Journey Roadmap
Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU). Drive to Bhalukpong (approx. 5-6 hours) or directly to Dirang (approx. 10 hours).
Visit Dirang Monastery, Kiwi gardens, and the hot water spring in Sangti Valley.
Sela Pass Drive to Tawang (approx. 6-7 hours), crossing the scenic Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and Sela Lake. Stop at Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Nuranang Waterfalls (Jung Falls).
Visit the famous Tawang Monastery, Urgelling Monastery (birthplace of 6th Dalai Lama), and the Tawang War Memorial.
Explore Bum La Pass (Indo-China border) and Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake). Requires special permits arranged in advance.
Drive back towards Bomdila (approx. 6-7 hours), visiting local markets and monasteries.
Drive from the mountains to Kaziranga National Park in Assam (approx. 7-8 hours).
Morning Elephant safari and afternoon Jeep safari (Central/Western range) for one-horned rhino spotting. Optional visit to Orchid Park.
