Beside it lies the turquoise Sela Lake, frozen in winter and sparkling in summer. Local legend says the pass is named after a Monpa woman, Sela, who gave her life during battle — a story of loyalty and courage that makes the journey even more moving. A little further along stands the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, who held off enemy forces during the 1962 Indo-China war. The Indian Army still maintains his post as if he were alive, keeping his legacy of bravery alive for all who pass through. The journey also takes you to the calm waters of Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake) and PT Tso, whose reflections of the surrounding peaks create postcard views. On the way, you will also witness the stunning Nuranang Waterfall, cascading powerfully against a lush backdrop, one of the most beautiful sights in the region.
